What is NATS?
NATS, which stands for National Apprenticeship Training Scheme, is a scheme of the Indian government started in 2016. The scheme aims to train skilled workers so that they could get jobs.

NATS scheme apprenticeships are offered in a diverse set of sectors such as construction, manufacturing, IT, and retail. The apprenticeship period is different in every sector, however, it normally lasts from six months to two years.

Apprenticeships under NATS are well-paid, with almost all apprentices earning between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000

Benefits of Apprenticeships Through NATS

NATS has a lots of advantages relating to apprenticeships. Apprenticeships give a chance to explore a skilled trade while working and earning a salary. A lot of apprenticeship programs also include tuition assistance, so apprentices can get a degree or certificate in addition to their journeyman’s credential.

Apprenticeships give on-the-job training under a journeyman or the master craftsman. This hands-on learning is complemented with classroom instruction, so apprentices acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge in their preferred trade.

The graduates from an apprenticeship are immediately ready to work as skilled workers after completing it. They possess the knowledge and experience that employers are searching for, and they usually receive higher salaries than those who do not have a credential in an apprenticeship.
