If you want Become a MBBS doctor in India, you must complete an MBBS degree. MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to an MBBS program in India is completion of Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects and 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects.

Candidates who have completed their Class 12th from outside India must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities

Eligibility Requirements for MBBS Admission in India

To be eligible for admission to an MBBS program in India, candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories are eligible for a 5% relaxation in marks.

Entrance Exams Conducted for MBBS Admission in India

There are a few entrance exams which are conducted in order to get admission into MBBS course in India. These exams are:

All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) – This is a national level exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The students who want to take admission in MBBS courses in any medical college across India have to appear for this exam.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – NEET is also a national level entrance exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The students who want to take admission in MBBS courses in any medical college across India have to appear for this exam.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main – JEE Main is an engineering entrance exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The students who want to take admission in MBBS courses in any medical college across India have to appear for this exam

Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (UPCPMT) – UPCPMT is a state level entrance exam which is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education (UPBTE). The students who want to take admission in MBBS courses in any medical college across Uttar Pradesh have to appear for this exam.

MBBS Fees in India range between INR 2,000 to INR 25 Lakhs. The MBBS fees in Govt Colleges range between INR 2,000 – INR 14,000 while the MBBS Fees in Private Colleges range between 10 Lakhs to 25 Lakhs. MBBS Course fees depend on location and affiliation.
